The trip of a lifetime

I'm about to embark on a flying adventure to Alaska with my nephew in my own aircraft. The company that arranges the flight plan, fuel stops and excursions has us following the historic routes of the early pioneer aviators who first explored Alaska by air, but with the advantage of staying at the best hotels at night.

Membership in our "150-knot" group includes complete pre-flight trip briefing, a pre-flight dinner where we'll meet our fellow pilots, daily briefing for each leg of flight by an experienced Alaska pilot, fuel discounts at some locations, and planned out trip flights from each of our stay over hubs.

I'll be updating this blog frequently with photos and stories from our trip. Stay tuned!

  1. The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.

Have a Safe and Enjoyable trip!
